During the autumn there was mueh promise in the appearance of pasture lands in Southland and Otago. They seemed to he recovering from the drought. Now the farmers are assured that they need no longer worry about the problem as to whether the check to growth will prevent the pas- ! tures from carrying their stock during ' the winter. The grass has everywhere come away well.
