CAR STEALING
A NEW METHOD. The other day a well known firm of London car dealers reeeived a telephone message purporting to come from a man who stated that he was very much interested in a new sports car. Would they care to send one round right away for him to see ? He gave his address as on the fourth ' floor of a block of London mansion flats. A salesman promptly drove the car round and made inquiries of the porter for the supposed customer. However, both the floor and the number had been given incorreetly, and, in any case, the man was out, so that, altogether, the salesman wasted about five minutes. He returned to the . street entrance to the flats. The car had disappeared. There is not the slightest doubt that this is the latest scheme of the enterprising men who make a living out of stealing cars.
