LITTLE CHANGE
(Press. Assn.—
THE FINAL COUNTING
-By Teleir mh — Ccpyrlglit).
Kec. June ld, 11.30 p.m. SYDNEY, Monday. The elections were widely discussed in Sydney to-day. Although 32 new members will be seen in the new Parliament which is likely to be sumnioned next week, the fate of three doubtful seats is unlikely to be decided until the checking of preferences. A further counting of postal and absentee voting to-day made little change in Saturday's figures, although if anything, it strengthened the position of the anti-Labour candidates. The latest estimates confirm the week-end predictions of the parties to be: Government 65, Opposition 25. An unexpected feature of the eountiy polling was the fact that the United Australia Party polled heavier than the Country Party in a number of constituencies contested by both parties. Only entirely industrial seats in the metropolitan Newcastle district were retained by Lang forces.
