THE WEATHER
The Government meteorologist issued the following weather report and forecast last night: — General situation: The barometer is still moderately high over New Zealand, but low to the Eastward; a complex depression is located in the western Tasman Sea and south eastern Australia. Forecast: Winds light to moderate and variable, north-easterlies prevailing a'nd freshening generally. Weather: Fair at first, but gradually becoming unsettled with rain .developing in the western and southern districts and becoming general within^the next two days; temperatures milderl Following are the barometer, maximum and minimum thermometer, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department, for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday: — Barometer 30.071 ins. Thermometer (max.) 55.1deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) 22.7deg. Rainfall .»• Nil
