CONSISTENCY
"CONSISTENCY."
Sir — I was interested to read in your valuable paper a few days ago that the member for the district, Mr. C. H. Clinkard, approved of Cabinet's action in sending three delegates, Messrs Forbes, Coates and Stewart, to the Ottawa conference. In this Mr. Clinkard was somewhat of a rara avis as nearly every one else in New Zealand, if the Press can be taken as a guide to public opinion, thought that one capable Minister would be enough and that the Prme Minister and the Minister of Employment should stay at home and look after the Country's pressing internal troubles. ■ Now, however, the Prime Minister has changed his mind and has decided to stay at home. Mr. Clinkard thought that the Prime Minister's previous decision was right and told him so in a letter which you were considerate enough to publish. In view of this I am now anxiously waiting to see you publish the information that Mr. Clinkard has taken the Prime Minister to task for making what must seem to the memher for Rotorua, if he w'as sincere in'his previous laudation an entirely wrong decision. Yours
etc.
