PIGS SELL SLIGHTLY BETTER: OTHER RATES REMAIN STEADY SHEEP AGAIN EASIER HAMILTON, Tuesday. The Farmers' Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report : — At Frankton sale today we had a heavy yarding of all classes of fat and store sheep. With the exception of an odd pen of extra choice quality wethers, fat sheep were again easier. A good entry of fat lambs realised late quotations. Store sheep: These were penned in more than average numbers, practically the whole of the yarding changing hands at recent quotations. The advertised line of 810 store wethers sold for 7/6 each. Cattle : A heavy yarding of both ox and cow beef came forward with odd pens of good quality beef remaining unchanged in value. Plain and iiiferior quality were easier, store cattle remaining at late rates. Dairy cattle: There was a heavy yarding of dairy cattle. Young Jersey cows sliowing well forward in calf, met with fair competition, but olde'r cows and backward sorts were in little demand. The advertised herd of cows on account of Mr. F. Duclc, averaged £3 15/-. Pigs: A small yarding of fat and store pigs met with good competition, particularly for quality baconers. Porkers remained about equal to late quotations, while stores and weaners showed a further rise in vaQuotations : Heavy fat wethers 12/6 to 14/-, lighter 11/- to 12/-, killable 9/- to 10/6, fat ewes 5/6 to 6/6, lighter 4/9 to 5/1, heavy prime fat lambs 17/-, heavy fat lambs 12/6 to 14/-, medium 11/- to 12/-, light 9/- to 10/6, runners 24/- to 28/-, vealers 14/- to 18/-, medium fat steers £5 5/- to £6, light £4 to £4 10/-, heavy fat cows £3 16/- to £4 9/-, medium fat cows and heifers £2 14 /_ to £3 4/-, light £3 2/6 to £2 5/-, store cows 16/- to 20/-, boners 6/- to 14/-, empty 2-year heifers

8/- to 15/-, good Jersey cows £5 to £6 10/-, backwai'd £2 10/- to £4 10/-, Friesan cows 30/- to £1, pedigree Jei'sey cows 2£gns to 7gns, cows in millc £2 to £5, Shorthorn heifers to £3 5/-. Heavy baconers £2 4/- to £2 6/-, medium £2 to £2 3/-, heavy porkers 25/- to 28/-, medium 21/- to 24/-, stores 11/6 to 14/-, slips 9/6 to 13/-, weaners 5/- to 9/-, sows with litters £2 2/6 to £2 17/-.
