BOY SCOUTS
EXAMINATIONS AND TESTS HELD ON KING'S BIRTHDAY ENJOYABLE OUTING Rotorua Troops 1 and 2 took advantage of the King's Birthday to hold a field day (with the kind permission of Mr. W. Tucker), at his farm on the Wairoa Road. The two troops assembled at headquarters at 9 a.m., and after saluting the flag and singing the National Anthem proceeded to the farm where various tests and examinations were carried out by Scoutmaster A. W. Gordon, Troop Leader J. Alexander, and the patrol leaders supervised by Scoutmaster T. C. Hawkins. About 60 boys attended, and were soon at work on their tests. Three boys, C. . Kingsland, K. Musgrave and L. Adams qualified as First Class Scouts; L. Adams also gaimng his cook's proficiency badge, while S. Orsler, F. Postleweight, O. Donaldson, T. Worrall, J. Kurney and H. Dansey qualified as second class. Seven boys passed in first class signalling and 15 in second class; 10 in first class first aid and 13 in second class first aid. Altogether a most happy day was spent, the two troops working together in perfect harmony, and the boys thoroughly enjoying the day.
