MONKEY BUSINESS

COMEDY TRIO, THE "MARX BROTHERS," HERE AGAIN THREE MIRTH MAKERS They're at it again. Yes, dear j reader, the incomparable Marx Brothers, for the third howling time, ' make their appearance on the talking scieen, this time in an original comedy concoction appropriately entitled, "Monkey Business." And from the moment that Groucho, Ghico, Harpo and Zeppo are discovered as stowaways on an oeean liner, ' carefully concealed in four barrels labelled "kippered herring" these merry madmen do everything but sink the ahip. | As^ stowaways who put the cap- { tuin in his place, the Marx Brothers are unexcelled, doing everything imaginable and, to cap the climax, doing more things that you can't imagine. They steer the ship, act as barbers, flirt with other men's wives, get into a mixup with two dangerous gunmen, and finally, just to prove that they stop at nothing, rescue a beautiful young girl from the clutches of a gang of desperadoes. Of course, Groucho, Harpo, Chico, and Zeppo never for one moment let the plot interfere with their mad antics and, in typical fashion, spill more crazy gags than most comedians dare try in a lifetime. And that, of course, is what makes the most individual and loony comedians ever let loose. At the piano, Chico is still the trig- ' ger-fingered expert, regaling audiences with some of this inimitable jingles that have always proved so I popular. And Harpo, presiding over ; his magic harp, brings distinction to : the instrument of the angels. I The supporting cast includes 1 Thelma Todd, Ruth Hall, Tom Ken- ! nedy and Rockliffe Fellowes. Norman McLeod, well-known dir- 1 ee'cor of cemedies, presided over the Marx Brothers in "Monkey Business." I "Monkey Business" as a Para- 1 mount picture opens on June 11 at the Majestic Theatre. j \ " — : — ' ! Erich von Stroheim, famous actor and director, now appearing with • 'Garbo in "As You Desire Me," has added invention to his many other ' aehievements. "Von" has invented , and patented a tiny device, which fits ' in a vest pocket and which can be I used as a can-opener, bottle opener i and emergency cap for an opened , bottle.
