FULL APPROVAL

SENDING THREE MlNlSTERS TO CONFERENCE AT OTTAWA MR. CLINKARD'S OPINlON t. The member of Parliament for Rotorua, Mr. G. H. Clinkard, has forwarded to the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes) a letter expressing entire approyal of the Government's action in sending three Ministers of the Crown to head the Dominion's delegation to the Ottawa Conference. In the course of his letter, Mr. Clinkard expressed the opinion that the magnitude of the interests involved fully justified the strength of the delegation. "New Zealahd'S prosperity entirely depends upon Empire trade," Mr. Clinkard stated, "and this fact malces this an occasion upoii which no penny-wise eeonomy should he considened." If, as the member for Nelson (Mr. H. Atmore) had suggested, the Prime Minister went to Ottawa unsupported, in the event of complex questions arising, he would have* no one with "whom to confer. Dealiftg vfith the questio'n of an Empire currency, Mr. Clinkard expressed the hope that "the NeW Ze4land delegation "would approach the matter with open minds. Personallyi he was of the opinion that there "was an "ui'gent necessity for such a CVirrency and expressed the hope that full consideration of the complex problems involved would not be long delayed. "I regard the conference as a possible epoch in Empire history, and 1 take this opportunity of extending to yourself and your colleagues, my most sincere good wishes," Mr. Clinkard concluded.
