THE WEATHER
The Government meteorofogist iasued the following weather report and forecast last night: — 4 General Situation: Barometers have been graudally falling, but they were fairly uniform over the Dominion to-day; a northerly depression is passing eastward and an irttensive westerly depression now covers south - eastern Australia. Forecast: Winds variable, but graudally tending north-easterly, later freshenihg. Weather: Mainly fair to fine and mild, but some showers in the far north and south and later also in districts with a westerly aspect. Following are the barometer, maxtmum a'nd minimum thermometer, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department, for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday: — Barometer 29.957ins. Thermometer (max.) 55.4deg. Thermometer (min. on grass) '25.7deg. Rainfall Nil
