"An Absurdity" "This is a chance for some concillor to protiast against the necessity for holding elections on matters of this sort. It is an absurdity" said Cr. G. Urguhart at last evening's meeting of the Rotorua Borough Council when referring to the recent election held to appoint a borough assessor. Cr. Urquhart expressed the opinion that th'3 assessor should simply be appointed without calling for an election, and the opinion received unananimous support from the remainder of the Council. Jlt was pointed out that the system of holding an election for an assessor had only comparatively recently heen brought into force.
