Carna- | chan presiding. A good attendance % of members and delegates were pre- = sent. = Information was received from the | Whakatane Ladies' Hockey Club that | it was desired to affiliate with the Ro- = torua Association in preferenee to | Auckland, and that this desire had | been communieated to the N.Z. Wo- | men's Hockey Association. On the | motion of Mr. C. Mitchell, seconded = by Miss P. Glass, affiliation was grant- | ed subject to the approval of the con- | trolling association. | On behalf of the Mamaku Club, the | captain wrote dissociating the players | from a suggestion made from one of | its members that lack of interest was | being shown by the Association in the | affairs of the club, the secretary being 2 instructepl to forward a suitable reply. | The results of the matehes played | last Saturday were reported as folI lows.— Mamaku 1 goal, Hinemoa 0; | Taniwha 2, Mourea 1; Shamrocks 4, | Whippets 0. = In accordance with an arrangement § made with the Rotorua Atheltic and E Axemen's Club, all matehes will be \ postponed on Saturday, June 4, with : the exception of the Shamrocks v. i Mourea fixture, which is to be replay- | ed on No. 2 ground at 2.30 p.m. Mr. \ Watts will referee the match. § Aard Cup Entries j The secretary reported that entries \ had been received from the Whaka- \ tane, Te Puke and Te Teko Clubs for \ the Ladies' Aard Cup tournament on 1 Friday next at the Government | grounds. Owing to the number of i matehes to be played it would be ne- | j cessary to start games not later than j 9.45 a.m., the draw being arranged j as follows: — 9.45 a.m., Rotorua A v. | j Te Puke; Rotorua B v. Te Teko; I ! Whakatane, a bye. 11 a.m., Rotorua i A v. Te Teko; Rotorua B v. Whaka- : | tane; Te Puke, a bye. 12.15 p.m., Te Teko v. Whakatane; Rotorua B v. Te I Puke; Rotorua, A a bye. 1.30 p.m., Whakatane v. Rotorua, A; Te Puke v. Te Teko; Rotorua B, a bye. 2.45 p.m., Rotorua A v. Rotorua B; Te Puke v. Whakatane; Te Teko, a bye. A letter was received from the Te Puke Men's Club stating that the Whakatane Club has suggested that the two teams combine in playing a team from Piako or Waihi at Rotorua in conjunction with the Aard Cup matehes. The action of the secretary in replying that time was too short to arrange such a match was approved. In accordance with their earlier request it is anticipated that the Te Puke Club will now send a team to play a Rotorua men's |:eam. The seleetion of the Rotorua team was left in the hands of Mr. B. Lowry. The names of the ladies' teams se- j lected to represent Rotorua in the Aard Cup matehes were presented by the secretary and formally approved by the committee. Ilt was decided that the B team would play in the uniform of the Shamrock Club, ' and that all players were to assemble " at the main gates of the Government Gardens not later than 9.15 a.m. On the suggestion of Mr. A. C. Watts, it was decided to prohibit spectators from viewing the games from the side-lines between the two grounds owing to the danger of injury involved. The sub-eommittee appointed to control the entertainment and catering arrangements met after the discussion of general business had eon'cluded and finalised arrangements in connection with the stall which will be ! run on both Friday and Saturday. j
