PRIMARY SCHOOL
COMMITTEE PROTESTS AGAINST RAISING OF SCHOOL ENTRANCE AGE. COCOA FOR PUPILS. The Rotorua Primary School committee held a meeting on Friday evening in Mr. N. M. ICeane's office. In the absence of the chairman, Mr. C. A. Clarke, Mr. Keane presided. Members present were Messrs. L. Ewert, H. C. Smith, H. Wilkinson, A. T. g Butt (secretary) and the headmaster, Hf Mr. B. M. Green. || Mr. Keane, in welcoming the new H committee member, Mr. Smith, said H that he felt sure he would prove an 111 active member and would be a great B§ help to the committee. A resolution was carried protesting Kk against the alteration of the school entrance age from five years to six years, and is to be forwarded to the WM School Committees' Association, Auck-fl| land, with a request that they ti^^H and have this legislation repealed. 9B Mr. Wilkinson offered to provide^B punga ferns to be planted under theHB trees on the Arawa Street boundary |®e of the school.
