DEATH OF ADMIRAL WHO ATTACKED BRITISH COASTAL TOWNS ^bMBARDED SCARBOROUGH

BERLIN, Wednesday. The death has occurred of Admiral Franz von Hipper, famous during the Great War as a German naval commander. Admiral von Hipper was in command of the warships which carrie'd out the raids on the coastal ports of Yorkshire in 1914 and bombarded Scarborough, Whitby, Hartleport and West Hartleport. ! He was also commander of the cruiser squadron at Dogger Bank and the Jutland engagement. Admiral von Hipper was 69 years of age.
