The Government meteorologist issued the following weather report and ftfrecast last night: — General Situation: An extensive cyclpne is now moving on to the Dominion. Forecast: Winds, south-westerlies, . rppderate tp fresh, but decreasing. Weather: Fi'ne generally, but a few shewers at first, espeeially on the East Coast and in the far hJorth and S.outh; cold to-night and some severe frosts, but becomjng milder to-morrow. Following are the barometer, maximurp #'nd minimum thermometer, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department, for the 24 h°Mrs ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday: — Barometer .... .... 30.166ins, Thermopneter (max.) 44.5deg. Thermpmeter (min. on grass) 20.0deg. Rainfall 0.15ins.
