SALE OF FARM
1 j PLANTIFF AND DEFENDANT BOTH SUCCEED ON CLAIMS. | ; ATIAMURI PROPERTY. A claim and counterclaim for the recovery of certain monies allegedly due from the -sale of a farm at Atiamuri and certain share milking contracts in connection with the property, was heard by Mr. S. L. Paterson S-M. in the Rotorua Magistrate's Court on Tuesday. The plaintiff was W. R. Golledge (Mr. L- Dingle), sharemilker, who : clamed from George Gunson (Mr. M. H. Hampson), of Rotorua, farmer, ! the sum of £92/19/6 for work ' allegedly done and materials supplied. Defendant, Gunson, admitted liability for £40/9/6 of this amount, but i counterclaimed for £161/6/2 as mon- ; ies allegedly due to him from the j transaction. j The hearing was lengthy and enj tailed an exhaustive investigation inj to the various transactions surround- ' ing the sale of the farm property and the milking contracts. | Defendant in evidence, stated that | he had no desire to receive and monj ies from plantiff, but had set out the vaiious items in his counterclaim in order to show that he had treated ' Golledge very fairly throughout the | transaction. | The magistrate gave judgement 1 for plaintiff for £52/7/0, this amount ; including the sum of £40/9/6, ad- ; mitted by defendant- Judgement for : the sum of £8/12/0 was awarded 1 defendant, as the counterclaim. Costs | were allowed both parties according ! to scale.
