A bond of deep devotion exists between them, far stronger than that of the ordinary brother and sister. She has, too, an other suitor, Captain Welke, portrayed by Paul Cavanagh, also a ranking ace in the Austrian service. Under the impression he is fighting Cavanagh, Farrell brings Albright down in death, The realization of his horrible mistake leads him to a deep hatred for war and he deserts. Branded a deserter, scorned by the one girl in all the world, his heartbreak was complete. How he atoned and proved to the world that his desertion was honorable, makes up the thrilling climax of this touching romance.
