RIFLE SHOOTING
THIS WEEK'S RESULTS SHOW DECIDED IMPROVEMENT ROTORUA MINIATURE CLUB The Rotorua Miniature Rifle club held its usual weekly shoot at the drill hall on Monday last, 55 members taking part. The shooting showed a decided improvement on that of the previous weeks. The following are the scores of those who obtairied 50 or over off the rifle: — Possible 70. L. Dornbush, 67; W. Donaldson, 66; S. Walker, 66; W. Bates, 65; S- Weir, 64; E. C. Adolph, 63; J. McAlles, 62; J. Martin, 61; R. Reid, 61; J. Fairley, 60; R. Henderson, 59; I. McNaughton, 59; H. Hardcastle, 59; W. The following was the position in the various trophy competitions at the conclusion of the evening's shooting; — A. Grade: — Mr. A. V. Merriman's cup for the best aggregate score, four shoots out of six. G- H. Weir, W. Donaldson, 257. (To shoot off.) Highest score off the rifle, W. Donaldson, 66; highest score with handicap, W. Bates, 68; second highest score with handicap, S. Walker, 68. If Donaldson wins the Merriman Cup, S. Walker will take the trophy for the highest score off the rifle, and J. Martin the trophy for_ the second highest score with handicap, (67). For the highest score with handicap, Bates and Walker tied; in the shoot off Bates won. B. Grade: — Mr. H. C- Hardeastle's trophy for the best aggregate score, four shoots out of six, L. Dornbush, 222; highest score off rifle, J. Fairley, 60 ; highest score with handicap, G. Daubney, 68; second highest score with handicap, T. Middleton, 66.
