Rec. May 24, 7 p.m. SYDNEY, Tuesday. The Sun says that Mr. L. H-. J. Jones, aeronautic lecturer at the Sydney Technical College, has designed a high-wing monoplane for the Tasman fiight to New Zealand. It j will be piloted by Mr. R. Mitchell, ! of Mosman . The machine is fitted with a Hark-ness-Hornet engine locally made- In test fliglits it disclosed remarkable speed and climbing qualities. It is now being fitted with special "blindflying iristruments an'd also with extra tanks for petr'ol so that the 'plane will have a range of 1,500 miles.
