The Government meteorologlst issued the following weather report and f»recast last night: — ■ Ge'neral Situation: The cyclone which crosed the Tasman Sea rapidly on Sunday, was centred near the East Cape at 4 p.m.; pressure is very high over south-eastern Australia. Fprecast: Winds, mpderate tp strpng sputh-westerlies tp sputh-easterlies prevailing. Weather: Improving semewhat, but stiil celd and changeable, with shewers at times in mest districts and seme snew en the ranges, Frests inland in the Seuth Island. Fellewing are the baremeter, maximum a'nd minimum thermemeter, and rainfall readings recerded at the Gevernment Observatien Statien- by the Reterua Teurist Department, fpr the 24 heurs ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday: — Baremeter 29.601ins. Thermemeter (max.) 56.2deg. Thermemeter (mi'n. en grass) 37.2deg. Rainfajl 1.09ins.
