NIGHT FLYING

The people of Wellington recently witnessed the Uhique spectacle of one of the Wellington Aero Club's 'planes flying over the city at night. The 'plane, which was illuminated, was flying under an arrangement between the Atlantic Union Oil Company, Limited, and the De Luxe, Theatre, where "Hell Divers" is now screening. These two organisations, and the Wellington Aero Club, are to be complimented on their enterprise, being the first to introduce such a novelty to New Zealand, for an illuminated 'plane has not previously flown at night in this ,country. The plane is to fly on a total of six nights and a competition has been arranged whereby the public are asked to estimate the height of the plane at the time it fires a "Verey" light. The "stunt" is attracting very considerable interest in the city.
