WELLINGTON, Saturday. ."The gift of the Waitangi Estate by their Excellencies Lord and Lady Bledisloe, to the people of New Zealand, has awakened a sense cf profound admiration in the minds of the Maori people," said Mr. H. D. Bennett to-day. He added that he had the authority of the Bishop of Aotearoa to say on behalf of the native race that the announeement of the gift had stirred the imagination of the Maori people throughout the length and breadth of New Zealand, as in the political field Waitangi was a star in the firmament. For their worthy and thoughtful act their Excellencies' names would ever retain a warta place in the hearts of this and future geiierations.
