PALMERSTON N.; Sunday. A distressing fatality occurred at Kauwhata on Saturday, when Bernie Robinson Bennett, the 14-months-old son of Mr. Hamilton Bennett, was accidently killed through falling from a dray. Mr Bennett was carting soil in the vehicle on a farm, and had scooped a hole in the load hnd had placed his son securely in a corner. He unfastened a gate and looked to see if the child was safe. He turned his head to le'ad the horse through the gate, and on looking round again found his son missing. On searching he was shocked to find the child crushed under a wheel of the dray.
