CROSS-COUNTRY CONTEST WON IN PUSS MOTH ONE COMPETITOR KILLED

Rec. May '22, 6.50 p.m. LONDON, Saturday. The Morning Post cross-country air race, Heston to Norwich and back, 500 miles, was won by F. R. Walker in a Puss Moth. Captain Grierson in a Gipsy Moth was second. Miss Winifred Spooner in a Puss Month was fourth. Lieutenant Frank George Gibbons, of the Royal Air Force, crashed on top of an oak tree and was killed.
