THE WEATHER
The Government meteorologist issued the following weather report and f»recast last night: — General Situation: The recent anticyclone has passed away to the eastward, but a vigorous depressio'n is moving toward the Dominion, its centre at present being West of the Auckland peninsula. Forecast: Winds, moderate to strong north-easterlies to northerUes, reaching gale force in places; changing to southerlies soo'n in the South Island and generally during tomorrow. • Weather: ' Unsettled, cioudy and misty, with general rain and many heacy falls likely; snow on the high Country; temperatures becoming much coider. Foliowing are the barometer, maximum a'nd minimum thermometer, and rainfall readings recorded at the Government Observation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department, for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday: — Barometer 30.240ins.
