WELLINGTON, Wednesday. "They are practically identical with the Farmers' Union; compulsory coneiliation and voluntary arhitration," remarked Mr. W. J. Polson, M.P., president of the New Zealand Farmers' Union, when reviewing the amendments to the Arhitration Act, at a meeting of the Dominion executive. Mr. Polson said that the effect would be to assist in bringing down costs, which was so essential from the farming point of view. "I believe we are going to see better conditions shortly he said, "but they won't come immediately. It will probahly be a year or more before we see any appreciable improvement. In the meantime, we have to face the problems of this country.
