— By Telegraph — Copyrlght).
WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Last month it was announced that arrangements were being made for a separate shipping service from Cauada to New Zealand. Formerly there were separate services from Canada to the Dominion and Australia, hut when negotiations for reciprpca! trade between Canada and Ne\' Zealand broke down ships of the Canadian National Steamship Line called first at Auckland and after discharging in New Zealand proceeded to Australia and then to Canada. The latest advice received in New Zealand is to the effect that the present service will he carried on until the trade warrants re-opening a separate service. The indications are that Auckland will remain the first port of call in New Zealand.
