GRAND THEATRE

TO-NIGHT R.K.O. Radio Pictures' comedydrama, "Fanny Foley Herself," r which opens to-night at the Grand Theatre, is said to be a "new" picture in every sense of the word. It is a refreshing story presenting a novel plot of mother-love, comedy, sacrifice and romance. It presents filmdom's newest star, Edna May Oliver. It is the first picture to be shown here made with the new technicolour process and is filled with magnificent settings in their natural colour. It also rnarks a new era in perfection of sound recording. R.K.O. Radio Pictures' latest development, the new "ribbon type" microphone, was used. This instrument is said to be so sensitive that the waving of a hand before it will create sounds like those of a wind-storm. Supporting Miss Oliver is a notable cast including Hobart Bosworth, Florence Roberts, Rochelle Hudson, Helen Chandler and John Darrow.
