HAMILTON, Tuesday. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report on their weekly stock sale at Frankton yards to-day as follows: 1 Cattle: The yarding of ox beef was a large one of mostly average fat to light quality cattle. Bidding was brisk and values obtained were g shade firmer than last week. An appreciable rise in cow beef values was due to the small offering. Competition was keen. An advertised lihe of fat and forward steers was in fairly keen demand and the prices quoted we consider very satisfactory in comparison with late rates. A number of vealers were readily disposed of upder a good demand. Quotations: Average quality fat bullocks, £4 1.0s to £5 10s; lighter fat bullocks, £3 17s 6d to £4 9d; light, £3 5s to £3 15s; good quality fat cow qnd beifpr beef, £3 7s 6d to £3 15s; average fat cqws, £2 15s to £3 5s; lighter, £2 5s to £2 15s; light, £1 18s to £2 4s; killable, £1 10s to £1 17s; stores, 18s to 25s; boners, 10s to 16s; average qual- , ity vealers, 16s to £1 18s; lighter, 12s to 15s; forward conditioned two-year steers, £2 15s to £3 6s; good store steers, £2 9s to £2 12s. Sheep: The numbers of sheep yarded were above the average. The demand was keen and values for fat wethers and lambs showed an improv- ' ing tendency, while good fat ewese were only firm, poorer quality meetjng with a weaker demand. ! Quotations: Prime fat wethers, 13s to 14s 3d; fat wethers, 11s 6d to 12s 9d; lighter, 10s to 11s 3d; prime twotooth ewes, 13s 6d to I4s Id; fat ewes, 6s 6d to 7s lOd; lighter ewes, 5s 8d to 6s 3d; prime lambs, 12s to 13s 6d; average, 10s 9d to 11s 6d; lighter, 8s 6d to 10s. Pigs: There was an average yarding of fat and store pigs. Fat pigs consisted mainly of porkers, which sold at late rates. Baconers were again firm at late .rates and large stores were keenly sought after, while no change on late quotations is reported for slips and weaners. Quotations: Heavy baconers,' £2 to £2 4s; medium baconers, 34s to 38s; lighter baconers and heavy porkers, 36s t'o 32s ; light porkers, 17s to £1; large stores, 10s to 14s; slips, 6s to weaners, 4s to 5s 6d.
