WANTED GAOL

MAN WAS "FED UP" SO BROICE EIGHTEEN WINDOWS. SYDNEY, Monday. Armed with hammer, a fruit dealer at Hornsby last night dashed about the main .street and, with a 'curious crowd following him, shattered 18 plate-glass windows in the fronts of eight principal shops. The man was finally taclded by Constable McCarthy, who, while in a restaurant heard the crashing of glass and dashed outside. Later in the Hornsby police station the man is stated to have said; "I did it because I am fed up with everything and want to go to gaol." Inspector Pattinson, Sergeant Mathie and Constable McCarthy, who were present at the time, said that they were absolutely astound'ed. The hroken windows are in Coroation street and Pacific Highway, and the daniage is estimated at about £2QQ. Policemen were stationed at the shops to guard stock.
