DEATH OF PHAR LAP AUSTRALIAN JOURNALIST EXPRESSES FIRM CONVICTION ' | COLIC "ALL MOONSHINE"
-By Telegra.ph — Copyrlght).
AUCKLAND, Tuesday. " I have no doubt, distasteful as it is to say it, that Phar Lap was deliberately poisoned," said Mr. A. H. Wolfe, Australian sporting writer, who went to America to report for a group of newspapers the doings of the ehampion. _ "The suggestion that Phar Lap died from colic was all moonshine," said Mr. Wolfe. "After investigation it was found that the theory that he had eaten alfalfa sprayed with arsenate of lead woujd not hold water»" Mr. Wolfe said that Phar Lap won the big race in a common canter, and there was no doubt that with the ordinary luck in training he would have remained unbeaten. Mr. Wolfe was certain that Ammon Ra would do well in America.
