The Government meteorologist issued the following weather report and f»recast last night: — Gerieral Situation: An intense anticyclone is centred in the South Tasman Sea a'nd extends from eastern Australia to beyond New Zealarid, while a slight depression is passing East of Norfolk Isiand. Forecast: Winds, variabie, with south erlies to south-easterlies prevaiiing. Jight to moderate generally, but fresh to strong in the far Nort. Weather: Fine in most districts, but some showers still likely in the north of Auckland and i'n -isoiatej places in the Bay of Plenty and Gfs-* borne districts; cold night temperatures with many frosts, especially in the South Island.
