Gbnefh} IMachhsari hea(| of The Manchurian forces,' reports that Japanese troops entered Tungho, 105 miles east bf Harbin, fired the buildings, looted the market, disarmed the police, arrested the officials and Tnterned them on a gunboat, hayonetted women refugees, sealed the mouths of pits in which civilians had taken refuge, and burned them alive. The Japanese assert that 3500 acts of brigandage occurred between March l and April 10, in the' South Manchurian zone. These were instigated by Manchuria's former rulers.
