LITTLE BOY DIES IN WAIKATO HOSPITAL ran into benzine flames

HAMILTON, Saturday. Brian Soanes, aged two and a-half years, who sustained serious burns to the face, hands and leg through the ignition of benzine used in the cleaning of a car by his father, Mr.Percy ; Soanes, of Peachgrove Road, HamilEast, suctumhed to his inj'uries in the Waikato Hospital early this after-' noon. The mishap occurred on Friday afternoon at Mr. Soanes' home. He had been cleaning the engine of the car with benzine, and apparently a wire in the ignition system short-circuited, causing the spirit to flare up. Just as the blaze occurred the little boy went to the side of the car, and ran into the flames. His father quiekly supptessed the outbreak, and in do5ng so was himself hurned. Father and son were removed to the Waikato Hospital, the former leaving after feceiving treatment.
