MATAMATA STOCK SALE The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report, at Matamata sale on Wednesday we penned a good yarding of sheep and a medium yarding of eattle. Prices for beef were firm at late rates, while store lambs met with good competition and sold readily at advanced prices. Good quality heifer calves were also in demand at reasonable prices. Pigs : There was an average yarding of both fat and store pigs. Values were on a par with late saies, baconers meeting with brisk competition toward the end of the sale. Stores and weaners sold well at late rates. Quotations: Sheep: Fat ewes, 4s 6d to 5s 3d; store ewes, ls 9d to 2s 8d; fat lambs, 10s lOd; forward conditioned lambs, 9s 3d to 9s 8d; store lambs, 7s 4d to 8s 7d; S.M. ewes r.w.r 6s 7d. Cattle: Fat steers, £3 19s; fat cows, heavy £2 5s to £2 15s; killable cows, £1 5s to £1 10s; fresh store cows, 16s to £1; boners, 5s to 14s; Jersey heifer calves, £1 10s to £1 19s; poorer sorts, £1 ls to £1 7s; dairy cows, £3 to £5 10s. Pigs: Heavy choppers, £2 2s to £2 10s; lighter choppers, 32s to 36s; heavy baconers, 38s to £2 3s; medium baconers, 33s to 37s; light, 29s to 32s; heavy porkers, 24s to 28s; medium porkers, 20s to 23s; light, 14s to 19s; stores, 11s to 15s; slips, 7s to 10s 6d; weaners, 7s to 7s 6d..
