— By Telegraph — Copyrlght.)
WELLINGTON, Monday. In the House of Representatives today Mr. P. Fraser (Labour, Wellington Central), asked whether the Prime Minister would consider arranging for the insertion in the Finance Bill before it was passed to the Legislative Council a clause extending the term of the existing Rent Restriction Act which expires in August. He pointed out that the measure contained a number of provisions which were not included in the recent rent legislation. If the extension were granted the matter could be fully diseussed next session. A new clause was moved hy the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. A. Hamilton, extending the duration of the law as to rent restriction until October 31, 1932. The Leader of the Opposition, Mr. H. E. Holland, on behalf of Mr. Fraser thanked the Minister for granting the request. The clause was passed.
