LONDON, Sunday. The Dublin correspondent of the iraes reports that Mr. de Yalera's test tariffs threaten to paralyse lsiness. The 75/150 per cent. duty l motor car and omnibus bodies is ■ohibitive. Though 33 1-3 per cent. mpire preference is allowed, this ;s seless and the duty must be regard1 as a direct attack on British nianutcturers. The Irish motor trade is unanimous lat the tariffs are economically inexisable and that they will lead to imple^e paralysis, with vast unemoyment and distress. Mr. de Yalera's newspaper says that creases in the cost of living are indtable, but they must be borne with irtitude for the cause.
