Some; hundreds of students yesterday at-i tempted to throw several supposed Communists into a lake nearby ow-! ing to their revolutionary speecbes at the Varsity Labour Club, but the' timely intervention of the police, who were summoned by telephone, pre-; vented them. ' \ After luneh to-day, students storm-, ed the club house and eaptured three fellow students who were taking refuge there. They carried them to a slimy lake within the grounds and threw them in and refused to allowthem to get out until they sang the: National Anthem. Several women graduates played a leading part in the affair and enjoyed the fun. Eventually the victims stood erectt in the water and sang one verse ofl the National Anthem, the whole company joining in, , much out of tune, ; but with great guesto. ; Four policemen present did not interfere.
