Rec. May 2, 9.35 p.m. LONDON, Monday. ( Sensational reports were abroad to-day that Poland is plotting to seize Danzig, a fre'e port controlled by the League of Nations. The Daily Express' Geneva correspondent says that Poland had completed her plans for the seizure of Danzig, and but for the eleventh hour intervention of France, the Polish fleet would already have sailed for Danzig harbour and thus brought about direct confliet between Germany and Poland. The Daily Herald's Danzig correspondent confirms the report of the preparations for the seizure. Eight warships were ready in harbour, eight miles distant, but the raid was called off owing to an urgent warning from Geneva. The Daily Herald's correspondent is of the opinion that if a conflict between Germany and Poland arises, Russia on the one side and France on the other would not be able to hold aloof.
