WOMEN TO BE ADMITTED TO ROYAL WIMBLEDON GOLF CLUB. The Royal Wimbledon Golf Club, one 'of the die-hard organisations which hitherto has persistently refused to admit women to membership, has now deeided to elect 200 as weekday members. A minority, refusing to aeknowledge defeat, demanded a poll. Famous clubs still refusing membership to women include the Royal and Ancient and Sunningdale, of which the Prince of Wales is a member. • Wimbledon's decision follows nuraerous London political clubs permitting members to entertain women friends, owing to the iinancial stress.
