AUCKLAND, Saturday "the total number of police on duty at the Town Hall and in the city on the night of the big riot was 30. Out of that number 21, were removed injured, several seriously. These figures were given by De-tective-Sergeant Dale, in evidence at the Police Court to-day. He said the total of 30 ineluded reinforeements. Not a third of the total was present at the Town Hall when the first attack was made by the mob. Witness said several prepared weapons were found bjf the police, including pieces of iron, a steel tub6 baton filled with lead, pieces of piping, an iron flail^pieces of steel tubing with tope in the ceiitre, a blacksmith's hammer alid a heavy steel hydrant cover, which was thro.wn at Constable Cook, severely injuring him. ^ «
