COUNTY ELECTIONS
NOMINATIONS FOR ROTORUA AND WHAKATANE COUNCILS HARBOUR & HOSPITAL. BOARDS The triennial elections of members of county councils, hospital boards and harbour boards will be held on Wednesday, May 11, and nominations for the elections in the Rotorua and Whakatane counties, the Whakatane hospital district and the Tau- i ranga and Whakatane harbour boa; d areas have closed. Rotorua County For the Rotorua County Council ;he following nominations have been 'eceived by the returning officer, Mr. \. Bellingham. North Riding KEITH, Anslow Leopold. SMITH, Richard Copeland. SMYTII, John James. South Riding FORD. Henry Puller. MARTIN, Joseph Everard. STEELE, Walter. As the number of vacancies to be llled in each riding is three and the aumber of nominations received is lot more than the number required, the six gentlemen nominated have been declared duly elected by the returning officer. Whakatane County The following nominations for the Whakatane County Council have been ceceived by the returning officer: — There are two vacancies for the Tarawera and Rangitaiki ridings, and one for each of the others. Galatea Riding: — No nomination. Matata Riding: — F. J. Burt, A. J. Rendall. Tarawera Riding: — W. J. Murray, C. T. Smith. Rangitaiki Riding: — L. W. Luxton, W. A. McCraclcen. Omataroa Riding: — J. G. Cliff- McCulloch. Taneatua Riding: — A. Peebles. Opouriao Riding: — W. Reid (present chairman), Thomas Mitchell, junior. Nukuhou Riding: — J. L. Burnett. Waimana Riding: — W. H. Addison, Robert Fleming. Elections will be necessary in the Matata, Opouriao and Waimana ridings. Tauranga Harbour Board For the Tauranga Harbour Board the Rotorua and Whakatane Counties are each constituent districts, returning one member. In each case only one nomination has been received by the v returning officer, Mr. H. M. Martin, for Rotorua, and Mr.^ R. Wilson for Whakatane, and these gentlemen have accordingly been declared duly elected. Whakatane Harbour Board For the Whakatane Harbour Board the following six nominations were received: Messrs. J. W. Sumner (chairman), C. Tickner, W. R. Boon, A. McGougan, R. Ruddick, J. A. Mitchell, C. G. Caisley. Whakatane Hospital Board There are six vacancies to be fi-1-ed on the Whakatane Hospital Board "and the following six nominations were received: Messrs. A. McGougan, R. W. Schofield, A. Peebles, F. J. Savage, F. J. Burt, J. W. Sumner.
