Rec. April 28, 7.0 p.m. DARWIN, Thursday, Mr, C. W[ Scott reaqhed here at 10.19 a.m. to-day bn his flight to Australia from England. He has broken Mr. C. A. Butler's time by a margin o'f approximately five hours. Mr. Scott made a perfeet landing. He was accorded an enthusiastic reception. He wore plus fours, tan shoes, a khalci shirt and a helmet with' a shade. He said he had had a tough journey with mostly head winds. The Timor Sea crossing was a regular nightmare. He used all his whisky in trying to steady his nerves. He circled over a small schooner early in the morning and the folk on board waved violently. He discovered Darwin after a lot of trouble. Mr. Scott added that he would never tackle a record flight again. It was too much strain on the nervous system. The aviator paid a tribute to Mr: Richards, Lady Chaytor's pilot, who arrived on Tuesday, saying he was very plucky in undertaking a hazardous Australian flight with only two months' flying experience. Mr. Scott will remain at Darwin until Saturday. His brilliant flight provided one of the rnost thrilling finishes from London to Darwin, lowering the records of both Mollison and Butler, the former's by only 26 minutes. Butler's time was 9 days 1 hour 43 minutes and Scott's 8 days 20 hours 34 minutes.
