MATAMATA STOCK SALE The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd. report: — At Matamata sale on Wednesday we ; penned an average yarding of sheep and cattle. Late rates were maintained on sheep, while the easier prices ruling for store cattle were maintained. There was again a full yarding of fat pigs but a smaller entry of slips and weaners. Values for all classes were on a par with late rates. Quotations — Sheep: Fat lambs, heavy 12/1 to 13/11, light fat lambs 9/- to 10/-, fat ewes 7/-, store ewes 2/4 to 4/6, store wethers 8/9 to 9/-, store lambs 5/6 to 7/7. Cattle: Fat heifers £2 5/- to £3 15/-, fat steers £3 , fat cows £1 18/to £2 10/-, killable cows £1 5/- to £1 12/6, fresh store cows 16/- to £1 2/6, boners 6/- to 14/-, choice heifer ealves 32/6 to 46/-, others 17/- to 30/-, yearling Holstein steers 9/- to 16/-, 2-year heifers r.w.b. £5 5/-. Pigs: Choppers £1 4/- to £1 8/-, heavy baconers 3§/- to £2 1/-, medium baconei'S 32/- to 36/-, light baconers a,nd heavy porkers 25/- to 30/-, medium porkers 19/- to 23/-, light and unfinished 12/- to 18/-, slips 6/6 to 9/-, good weaners 4/- to 5/6, smaller weaners 1/- to 3/-.
