OLD PUPILS' DANCE
ENJOYABLE EVENING AT HIGH. SCHOOL. Last Friday evening the old pupils of the Rotorua High Sehool held the first of their winter dances. There was a large number present and dahcing took place in the school assembly hall. The winning couple in the Monte Carlo dance proved to be Miss M. Williamson and Mr. R. Dorset. Supper was served in the technical school and the rooms were attractively decorated with bowls of chry santhemums in autumn tones. The long tahles set with their dainty repast added greatly to the air of festivity ' which prevailed. During supper Mr. R. G. Wehb took the opportunity of introducing the new headmaster, Mr. W. G. Harwood, to the old pupils. Mr. Harwood thanked thoSe present for the warm welcome_he had received and assured them that he would assist in every possible way to further the work of the Old Pupils' AssociatioU. He hoped that that evening would he the precursor of many other happy functions. Those present were,: Miss I. "Wilson, green floral ninon; Miss I. Sharpe, autumn shaded ninon; Miss V. Hale, cardinal taffeta; Miss R. Steele, almond green and primrose lace; Miss J. Bertram, Chinese red floral ninon; Miss K. Murray," salmon pink satin beaute; Miss J. Barber, cardinal embossed georgette; Miks O. Louden, midnight hlue satin; Miss W. Steele, vieux rose taffeta and net; Miss P. Wilson, black georgette; Miss M. Nelson, emerald satin with coatee to tone; Miss M. Willliam- — son, mulberry shaded taffeta; Miss J. Tucker ,: maize floral georgette; Miss F. Morrison, rose pink crepe de chine; Miss E. Hardie, ivory satin; Miss F. Mitchell, black georgette; Miss R. Johnston, powder hlUe satin; Miss J. Stonehouse, turquoise" taffeta; _ Miss R.
