DEMONSTRATORS' MARCH ON PARLIAMENT HOUSE CHECKED CROWD DISPERSES QUIETLY

WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The unexpected appearance of a large body of foot and mounted police put a sudden end to a march of about 200 unemployed people to Parliament House shortly before 8 o'clock this evening. It was the original intention of the demonstrators, who were led by well known Communists, to enter the grounds of Parliament House, but they were greeted at the gates by a police eordon and after they had been addressed by one of the leaders they d'spersed quietly at the request of Inspector J. Lander.
