OAMARU, Tuesday. The sale of stallions, brood mare and yearlings at the Elderslie stud to-day was attended by buyers from all parts of the South Island, but bidding was far from spirited. The highest price obtained was in the brood-mare section, S-2h guineas. The brown gelding Weatherwane, out of Taimai, realised 59 £ guineas, Mr John Tisdall, of Oamaru, being the purchaser. The imported stallions, Weathervane and Tea Tray were passed in.
