The neswpapers anticipate that the recommendations will not be limited to proposals in connection with those goods which come under the Abnormal Importations Act, which will shortly expire and in some quarters jt is believed that measures for the protection of certain branches of the iron and steel industries will be disclosed. In regard to income tax, althongh 110 alteration in the rates is expeeted the newspapers are confident that there will be some modification in personal allowances in relief of the income tax.
