MR. H. W. BURGOYNE
The death occurred at seven o'clock yesterday morning of an old and respected resident of Rotorua, Mr. Henry William Bnrgoyne, at King George V. Hospital. Mr. Burgoyne, who was in his 84th year, was taken ill about the middle of last week. \ In his early life Mr. Burgoyne wa? connected with the Church and was, for 18 years in charge of the Con-j gregational Chnrch, in Morecombejj England. After coming to New Zealand he spent thrde years in the LePj Street Congregational Chnrch, Dunedin, after which he took up B? 1 tive schooi work, being first statioD-1 ed at Te Kao, North Auckland, wherej he remained for five years. J Mr. Burgoyne then came to Rot"| rua, where he took up the positioaj of headmaster at the Whakarewarewa! native schooi.
