CYCLIST KNOCKED QVER BY CAR IN WHAKA ROAD MACHINE THROWN OVER GATE A bad example of the hit and run trype of accident occurred in Whaka road about 6.15 p.m. last evening, when a cyclist, Mr. Alfred Priee, of Fenton St., was knocked off his cycle by a motor car approaehing from the rear and left lying in the roadway in a partially dazed condition. The cycle was apparently carried by \ the car, and was picked up in a badly j damaged condition in another street, It was found thrown over a gate, ; apparently in an endeavour to dis-j pose incriminating evidence. Mr. Price was cycling from the: dir'ection jof Whakarewarewa to- 1 ward Rotorua, and when near the | Marguerita Street intersection, heard | the noise of a car approaehing froinl ; the rear. He was well on his right j I side, but before he had time to real-| t ise what had happened, he wasj thrown violently from his machinel to the roadway.
